(To make your trip even easier, I’ve created a simple 3-day itinerary that hits all the must-see spots and culinary gems. From breathtaking views to delicious local eats, I’ve got you covered. Scroll to the bottom for your go to guide of Santorini)
Arriving To Santorini
Getting to Santorini is a breeze, whether you’re flying or coming by sea. If you’re flying in, you’ll land at Santorini’s main airport, which is small but super efficient. It’s just a short 15-minute drive from the airport to popular towns like Fira or Oia, and taxis or shuttle services are readily available. If you prefer a more private option, car rentals are easy to arrange at the airport.
For those arriving by ferry, the port in Athinios is well-connected to other Greek islands, including Mykonos, Paros, and Crete. Ferries can be a scenic way to arrive, but they’re also a little slower—journey times can range from 1 to 6 hours depending on your departure point. Tickets vary, with ferries from nearby islands like Mykonos or Paros typically costing around €30-€60, while longer routes can be a bit pricier. Once you arrive at the port, you can grab a taxi or a bus into town.
Pro tip: It’s important to snag a taxi as soon as you arrive because the line can get competitive. We learned this the hard way when we decided to grab a bite near the port and didn’t realize we were the last ferry in. By the time we were ready to leave, most of the taxis had already left, and we ended up waiting much longer for one. The price? A hefty €120, so it’s best to grab a taxi quickly to avoid paying a premium!
Where To Stay

Let’s talk about accommodations that truly take your Santorini experience to the next level! Andromeda Villas isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience in itself. Picture cozy, luxurious rooms with stunning sea views, stylish interiors, and all the comforts you could want. Each room offers incredible views, but if you’re looking to splurge a little, I’d recommend booking one with a private pool or near the public pool. Located in Imerovigli, the highest point on the island, it offers some of the best sunset views around. Plus, with an on-site restaurant and poolside bar, you can enjoy those breathtaking sunsets with a delicious drink in hand. And the best part? You won’t have to compete for sunset views like the rest of the island—this prime location means you’ve got the perfect spot to enjoy them in peace.

Added Bonus: The affordability compared to other hotels/villas in Santorini (nearly $200+/night cheaper than most others)
Activities To Experience in Santorini
Santorini is one of those places that should definitely be experienced from the water. Life’s too short to just admire this stunning island from the shore, especially when there’s a perfect way to sail through its crystal-clear waters and soak in the breathtaking views. I had the chance to do just that with the Santorini Yachting Club, and it was honestly one of the highlights of my trip.

From the moment I stepped aboard the catamaran, I was blown away by how elegant and relaxed the experience felt. Whether I was lounging on the spacious deck, taking in the sunshine, or stretched out on the netting with panoramic views of the island, every second felt like pure magic. The calm waters, the stunning cliffs of Santorini, and the endless blue Aegean were the perfect backdrop for a truly unforgettable day. And to top it off, they served a classic Greek meal onboard, complete with fresh, flavorful dishes that added a real taste of local culture to the experience.

The best part? There’s something for everyone. Whether you’re after a private charter, a group excursion, a peaceful daytime sail, or a romantic sunset cruise (which I totally recommend!), the Santorini Yachting Club offers a range of options to fit your vibe. They even take care of pick-up and drop-off from your accommodation, so you don’t have to stress about a thing—just relax and enjoy the ride.
Best Restaurants In Santorini

Let’s talk about food that truly takes your Santorini experience to the next level! Hands down, the Ammoudi Fish Tavern was the best restaurant I ate at on the island. The freshly caught seafood far exceeded anything I tried at other places—it was simply in a league of its own. As you approach the restaurant, you can see freshly caught octopus hanging to dry, a sign of the incredible quality you’re about to experience. The meal was absolutely delicious, but what made it even more special was the atmosphere. Being right next to the sea, watching the sunset, creates a truly magical experience. The service was impeccable too—genuinely warm and welcoming, which made me feel right at home. Honestly, Santorini has some of the most hospitable people I’ve ever encountered.

With stunning views, outstanding food, and top-notch service, this place is not to be missed. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, as it’s one of the most sought-after spots on the island. Trust me, this is a dining experience you won’t forget.

Another restaurant worth savoring is Remvi, located in the serene village of Imerovigli. Offering a welcome escape from nearby bustling tourist spots, Remvi’s menu features culinary gems like perfectly grilled octopus, tender and full of flavor, and a slow-cooked lamb shank that practically melts in your mouth. Each table is greeted with a plate of freshly picked olives and warm bread—a cherished tradition similar to bread and butter in the U.S. With stunning views as the backdrop, a meal here promises an unforgettable experience.

Red Bicycle in Santorini felt like a hidden gem, combining incredible views with equally delightful food—an ideal spot for lunch. Perched high in the charming village of Oia, the restaurant offered sweeping views of the caldera and the endless blue of the Aegean Sea. Dining on the terrace, shaded from the hot midday sun and cooled by a gentle Greek breeze, made the experience truly unforgettable. As an added bonus, it’s just a short stroll from the famous blue-domed churches, one of the more famous photo spots on the island.

White Lounge in Santorini is a stylish, modern restaurant offering a refined dining experience with an incredible atmosphere. Located in the charming village of Imerovigli, just a short distance from Andromeda Villas, it boasts sweeping views of the caldera and the Aegean Sea, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal while soaking in the beauty of the island. The chic, minimalist design creates a serene ambiance, while the menu features a delicious selection of Mediterranean and Greek-inspired dishes, all made with fresh, local ingredients. Whether you’re enjoying a leisurely lunch or a romantic dinner, the combination of exceptional food, stunning views, and elegant surroundings makes White Lounge a standout choice for any occasion

Need To Know’s Before You Go
To make your stay in Greece as smooth and enjoyable as possible, here are a few friendly tips: First, keep in mind that in most Greek bathrooms, toilet paper shouldn’t be flushed. Instead, you’ll find a bin provided—this is simply a part of the country’s plumbing system and nothing to stress over.
When dining out, tipping isn’t required but is always warmly appreciated. Greek hospitality is truly something special; the locals go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and valued. I’ve rarely experienced such genuine warmth and kindness anywhere else—it’s like being treated as part of the family.
And don’t worry about language barriers! English is widely spoken, and most signs are written in English too, making it a breeze to navigate and communicate during your trip. Greece really makes it easy to feel at home while exploring all its wonders!
Final Thoughts
Every day in Santorini brings a new chance to discover and unwind. From tasting local flavors to sailing across the open seas and marveling at stunning sunsets, the island is filled with unforgettable moments. It’s more than just a place to visit—it’s an invitation to immerse yourself fully in relaxation and new experiences.
